Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon cannabis-infused olive oil (adjust based on preferred dosage)
  • 1 pound ground beef, turkey, or plant-based meat
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 can (15 ounces) red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, shredded cheese, and sour cream for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients:
Gather all your ingredients, pre-measure spices, and chop your vegetables for smooth cooking.
  2. Brown the Meat:
Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the ground meat and cook until fully browned, breaking it up evenly. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables:
Add the cannabis-infused olive oil to the same pot. Once warm, add the onion, garlic, and bell peppers. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Combine Ingredients:
Stir the cooked ground meat back into the pot with the vegetables. Then, mix in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef or vegetable broth, kidney beans, and black beans.
  5. Season and Simmer:
Sprinkle in the chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir everything thoroughly, ensuring the spices are well distributed.
  6. Simmer to Perfection:
Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  7. Taste and Adjust:
Before serving, taste your chili and adjust the seasoning as needed. If you'd like a thicker consistency, simmer uncovered for an additional 10 minutes.
  8. Serve and Garnish:
Ladle the chili into bowls and garnish with fresh cilantro, shredded cheese, sour cream, or even a squeeze of lime if desired. Enjoy it while warm!

Tips for Success:

  • Stir the chili regularly to prevent the bottom from sticking or burning.
  • Cannabis dosage can vary—start with a smaller amount if you're unsure and adjust in future batches.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for longer-term storage.

Serve this cannabis-infused chili with some crusty bread, cornbread, or tortilla chips for a truly satisfying meal!
