Happy Milk

The "Happy Milk" or Cannabis-Infused Milk is a versatile ingredient that can be used in coffee, tea, desserts, or enjoyed as a creamy beverage on its own. This recipe is straightforward, allowing you to infuse milk with cannabis safely and effectively.
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk (for the best infusion, use milk with a higher fat content)
- 1 gram of decarboxylated cannabis (adjust to your desired potency)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for flavor)
- Sweetener of choice (optional, such as sugar, honey, or agave)
Equipment
- Medium-sized saucepan
- Cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer
- Whisk or wooden spoon
- Airtight container for storage

Instructions
1. Decarboxylate the Cannabis
- Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C).
- Place the cannabis on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, breaking it into small pieces.
- Bake for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally. This step activates the THC or CBD for infusion.
2. Heat the Milk
- Pour the milk into the saucepan and heat it over low heat. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
- Do not bring the milk to a boil, as high heat can alter the cannabinoids. The milk should remain just below a simmer.
3. Add the Cannabis
- Stir the decarboxylated cannabis into the milk.
- Maintain the low heat and allow the mixture to infuse for 30–45 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent the milk from sticking to the pan.
4. Strain the Milk
- Once infused, strain the milk through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer into an airtight container to remove cannabis plant material.
- Squeeze the cheesecloth gently to extract as much milk as possible.
5. Flavor and Store
- If desired, stir in vanilla extract and your preferred sweetener.
- Allow the milk to cool before sealing the container. Store it in the refrigerator and use within 5–7 days.
Dosage Tips
- Calculate dosage carefully. If your cannabis contains 15% THC, 1 gram will contain about 150mg THC. Infusing it into 2 cups of milk will result in approximately 75mg THC per cup.
- Start with a smaller amount of cannabis if you’re new to edibles, using 0.5 grams (around 75mg THC) for a milder infused milk.
- Divide the total THC by the number of servings to estimate the potency per portion. For example, if you use 1 cup (half the batch), you’ll consume about 75mg THC divided by how much milk you drank.

Tips for Safely Infusing Cannabis
- Low and slow is key. Keep the milk at low heat (160°F–180°F) during the infusion process to preserve cannabinoids.
- Mix evenly. Stir the milk frequently to ensure even infusion.
- Be patient. Edibles can take 30–90 minutes to take effect, so start with small amounts before increasing your dose.
Cannabis-infused milk is creamy, versatile, and packed with potential. Whether you use it as a base for recipes or sip it warm with a touch of honey, enjoy its soothing effects responsibly!
